A few years ago Jack and Roll won the Best Burger contest of the noble city of Medellin changing the course of the restaurant putting it undoubtedly on the radar of all burger lovers and fans. Especially it being located in Envigado, central Medellin's hipster neighbour.
A small shack that fitted no more than 15 people; that’s up until it’s recent revamp bumping it to potentially 25 people. The line outside is still very much a thing, same as their exquisite menu.
The only thing that has changed since it started is its now beautiful décor.
The service is impeccable except for that one waitress that doesn’t seem to fit in, petit and with purple hair, she’ll leave you waiting for your water and the hope of a clean table.
With a smirk on her face, she’ll make you want to curl under the table hoping that one of the other amazing, pleasant and keen to detail waiters will come to your rescue. Do yourself a favor and just ask for somebody else straight away.
Anyhow, we are here to talk burger, burgers, burgers. A juicy meat patty that when done right is the most blissful experience you can treat your taste buds to.
In Jack and Roll, the size matters and every mouthful will make you want to finish the enormous almost inhume portion, that hopefully, they will never change.
Just in the burger category, the menu has over 2 pages of choices and for the curious at heart there are ribs and grilled meat options. I've tried the ribs and they were amazing.
It's hard to choose a favorite, but I will go with the one that has the fries cascading from the burger. It comes with a cheese melt that just thinking of it makes my mouth water.
Someone at our tabled ventured out ordered the ribs. They were a piece of heaven on earth. Jack and Roll is by far, still, the best in town. They've upped their game decking the place. If before you came for the burgers now you are in for the experience. Hence, why it will be a love beyond the meat patty.
