For many girls (specially Panamanian’s) getting dolled up is a priority. My best friend did the exact same thing my mom has been doing since she first started coming 3 yrs ago: getting their hair and nails done as soon as they land in Paisalandia (Medellin, Colombia).
Obviously, I have gone far and wide looking for the best place to do so in my local neighborhood since going all the way to Poblado was simply not an option.
Quickly I realized that Sabaneta had way more options than I anticipated which was going to make my search difficult as so many where incredibly disappointing.
Some looked so bad I’d make appointments I never intended to keep but the girls seamed so genuinely nice that I just couldn’t walk out without a booking.
An appointment I did manage to keep was in Aqua Spa because they did nail décor, which was such a thing for me 2 years ago. They where also a quick option as they always accepted drop-ins.
I was forced to look for a better option because the staff was rude, had terrible attitude and their pedicure was leaving me with painful ingrowing nails.
This is how I jumped to Bohemia Salon. A place with a big front window and princess chairs that instantly lured me in. Ana greeted me with a kind smile from the very beginning. I later learned that all their staff members where incredibly nice and charming.
Their nail-polish wall is beyond expectation and rest to say my toe nail situation is long gone. A full mani and pedi price is about COP 23,000. Around USD 7.00.
They always offer me bottled water and will even indulge my, now once in a while, nail art request. They also accept drop ins, which is such a mayor plus. Back to the nailpolish wall, they have a wide range of one of my favorite local nail-polish brands called Toy. Their products ar free of 7 harmful chemicals and have all the tones you could possibly imagine.
