The many beach bars start to pick up the cozy sunbeds and as days go by you'll find fewer options to get a cold draft even though the sun is out.There is a mix of rocky and sandy beaches. The rocky ones being the most beautiful having the clearest emerald waters you'll ever see. The best day to visit the market is on Fridays although it is open every day of the week. On this day you'll find fresh fish, several olive oil small producers, and even olive oil homemade soap.There is a local Nude Colony called Ada Bojana located on a sand island in the river delta of Bojana at the very end of Long Beach. Established in the 1950's promoting liberty, peace, and freedom in the midst of the Yugoslavia conflict.
Long Beach is the longest beach on the Adriatic Sea. 13 km of sandy cost and clear salty waters. Do be cautious when attempting to walk it as there is no natural shelter near the beach and the sun can be quite overpowering.Ladies beach is also a nice place to relax and bare it all. They will only let you in if you are a female, though. They serve a delicious breakfast for under 6 euros. The beach also has a sulfur spring that it's said to have natural healing powers.Hostel Pirate is a great option for accommodation. It is not near the beach but close enough. The team is friendly, there is beer time at 9 o’clock every single day which is awesome for mingling with fellow travelers. They also offer a tour that takes you out to a nearby beach. The tour includes cliff jumping (major highlight); a minor experience of underwater cave exploring and lunch at a cool seafood restaurant. If you do the tour do make sure to be cautious as there is drinking involved.If you are looking for a quieter stay there are plenty of apartments near Long beach, you will be a bit more secluded from the main town but closer to the beach.Interesting tip: there are fountains all over the city from which you can drink and refresh yourself with; do to the water cult the locals have endured since 1749.Don't miss out on one of the nicest hikes from the town center all the way to Long Beach. Walk along the coast and experience amazing views. It is an easy trek ideal for beginners. The walk takes you into the pine forest and there is always a refreshing dip nearby.
Overall, Ulcinj is cheap. The locals are really friendly and the clear waters are the perfect place to relax in the sun. If you do make it, visit Fisherman Hari. Order his local wine, it will be the best red wine you have ever tasted. His food is delicious but his bubbly personality will be the thing that captivates you.
