Churros and hot chocolate need to be added to anyones visit to Valencia.
A churro is a fried-dough pastry—predominantly choux—based snack.
When you are walking the streets at the center of Valencia, if you take notice, you will find several small street shops where you can buy churros and they are generally good.
If you want to eat the one the locals go out of their way for, you will have to make your way into Bea’s cute little joint in Ruzafa. Her churros are fluffy on the inside and with a light crispy outside. She has the traditional ones just with added sugar. Plus chocolate covered ones and with a Dulce de leche filling.
Her hot chocolate is ok, so if you want to go all out; the locals go buy her churros and then cross to the Ruzafa Market and buy the hot chocolate there at a place called Coffee Time. In this place they make the sought after thick hot chocolate. One sip of it and you’ll be madly in love.
You can find a really good brew there too 😉
